Drangarnir Wildlife Tour

Set sail from the small boat harbour in Sørvágur aboard Sjórok, and let the fjord open up around you. Within minutes of leaving the harbour you’re beneath sheer cliffs that can’t be reached on foot — this stretch of coastline is only visible from the water.

Hugging the shoreline, we look for the seabirds that nest in the cliff ledges above: puffins darting in and out of their burrows, guillemots lined up on the rock shelves, and kittiwakes and fulmars wheeling overhead. Your skipper knows exactly where the colonies sit and will bring the boat in close — slowly, and at a respectful distance — so you get a proper look without disturbing them.

From there we continue toward the towering Drangarnir sea stacks, sailing as close as conditions allow, before rounding the striking Tindhólmur islet. This is also where grey seals are frequent visitors, often resting on the skerries in the sun or curiously popping their heads up beside the boat.

Throughout the trip, your skipper shares stories about the fjord: the seabirds and seals that call it home, and what life has been like in this corner of Vágar for generations. This is a relaxed, small-group experience — no more than 10 guests aboard — so there’s plenty of room to ask questions, take photos, and just take in the scenery.
